Washington DC

Jan 22 & 23

GOOD NUTRITION is the foundation of GOOD HEALTH. Learn more about whole foods, their medicinal value, and how to make them a regular part of your life.

This workshop will guide you towards a better understanding of health and nutrition and enable you to incorporate healthful practices into your everyday life.

Learn how to prepare healthy meals using whole foods and fresh vegetables, understand the power of “superfoods” and how you can incorporate them into your diet, how to decode food labels, and the importance of sustainable agriculture in our communities.

We will look at  our food sources and learn how what we eat not only influences our health but also the health of our planet. We will learn to eat for nutritional balance while minimizing your carbon footprint and reducing your use of unnecessary animal protein. Topics covered will include eating low on the food chain, composting, going local, sustainable agriculture, finding nutrient density in your choices, and giving thanks.

We will choose foods gathered locally that nurture optimal health and learn how to cook them.  We will gather produce and protein from the farmer’s market and prepare delicious meals together

This environmentally minded nutrition program focuses on the difference you can make with your fork. Shifting towards a more sustainable diet will promote health, longevity, and well-being—for you, your family, and the planet.
